My name is , and I am applying for the DAAD-OSI Scholarship. I am currently in my last year of studies working towards completing my Bachelor's degree in Economics and Law with a specialization in Economics.

I believe that my field of interest will help me become an influential person, will motivate me to work on my continuously improvement will generate opportunities for getting to know interesting people and traveling around the world.

During the past five years, I have actively participated in many extracurricular activities, including several valuable volunteer experience. I have striven for academic excellence, always trying to make the most of my education while at the same time trying to gain some practical experience. Education has always been an important aspect of my life.

While in the high school, I took many challenging courses such as math, chemistry and physics. I faced all of them successfully despite the fact that I also attended different clubs, additional lessons in English, German and math. I graduated as an excellent student. with a 9 points grade (B+). In 2005, I came in first place in the Leova District-wide English Contest, and I came in second place in the same contest in 2006.

I also participated in different summer programs organized by Peace Corps and American Councils, such as "English Camp" July 2004 and "Camp GLOW" July 2005, which offered courses on topics like entrepreneurship, journalism and goal setting. This experience taught me a lot about myself and helped to develop my capacity to operate in diverse environments, to communicate with different people, to be open to new perspectives and to gain more knowledge and experience.

After that, I volunteered as a counselor, trainer in such subjects as "Leadership and Community Development", Career Development" within "TARE Seminar Series". This was a valuable experience for me. Not only did I practice being a trainer, but I worked toward motivating others and bringing a positive change in their life. In addition, I attended "Train the Trainers" conference organized by AIESEC. There, I developed my public speaking abilities, teaching skills and methods of organizing an efficient training. From this wide range of experiences, I have gained a broad background of life and I have found that I enjoy working both with and for people.

Economics is an important aspect of my life. This is exactly the field I am interested in the most, and I want to get deeper knowledge and practical abilities in order to become a professional and be prepared for a challenging career working for a national or international organization. With this goal in mind, I spend most of my time reading, trying to get more practical experience and participating in trainings or courses related to my career development.

During my university studies I developed my proficiency in economic theory and quantitative methods having courses and seminars in major fields of economics: Accounting, Finance, Econometrics, Statistics, Economic theory, Management and Banking. My theoretical knowledge coupled with my practical experience in financial management of the project and community service lead me to believe that in the future I will continue to perform at a high level in academics and in my activity as a financial analyst.

At some point, I would enjoy going back to university to become a practitioner. I have had an extraordinary number of teachers who were absolutely wonderful and I would one day like to pass on the knowledge and skills they have given to me. I want to contribute to the growth of others in their area of expertise.

I would also like to work as a consultant and to support entrepreneurs in their work to start their business, thus contributing to my country's growth. I increased my knowledge in this area participating in the US Embassy project "Business for Youth" which offered trainings on business projects, marketing and finance. It helped introduce me the area of entrepreneurship, and it was a great opportunity for intercultural communication and acquiring experience. Our American teachers taught about the US culture of business, about entrepreneurship and how to succeed in our future career. It was very useful for me to have some of the best Moldovan university students as colleagues to collaborate with and exchanged experiences and knowledge. It also exposed me to courses of regional cooperation and the Rule of Law.

Besides my studying, I am involved in many other civil society activities. For instance, I am an active member of the "Minerva" Youth NGO. It deals with different problems of the young people from Leova District, being mainly concerned with youth active participation in running different social and economic activities. The project "Our voice will be heard" was one of the projects in which I brought a major contribution as a consultant and trainer. Also, I helped the project manager carry out operational tasks, like assuring the project transparency and facilitating the process of human and financial resources management. Volunteering for "Minerva" helped me strengthen my leadership and team-work skills. I am sure that the mentioned activities are a good start for my career.

In addition, I have succeeded to acquire some practical experience
